“ I could leave out a food review and this place would be a five. Mountains, river, atmosphere, staff, etc. You are dissing your world experience if you come through this town and don't have a meal here. Stephanie was so awesome as our server, and we felt like we were the only table. Thank you, Stephanie. Garlic bread was amazing, and although I don't eat mushroom soup, my wife found both servings amazing. Wife had the salmon gnocchi and loved it. I had a bite, and I felt like it was caught right outside. I did the elk medallions and they were magnificent. I found not one flaw in any of the food. I WILL say that it is pricey, but not enough for me to demote it to a four star. It is pricey, but worth it, and everything in the town is a little pricey. You are paying a surcharge for beauty. Let's break this down. If you go to this place, you are in Grand Lake, so you recognize that things are a little more pricey. So, might as well have a view of the river, mountains, and everything else. So, plan out your trip, and you are losing out if you don't plan out 2 hours for a meal here. Definitely recommend and see you there. ”
“ One of the best kept secrets in Grand County. Each time I’ve gone the servers are so nice and on top of it. I’ve taken visitors here and everyone says it’s their favorite meal not just for the trip but maybe in general. The ravioli is awesome. My husband loves the steak and elk medallions. Also the vegan burger is amazing. Thank you for offering a plant based entree! ”
“ My husband and I stayed the weekend at the Historic Rapids Lodge in Grand Lake and could not have been happier. It's a homey, rustic environment, steeped in history and located right next to the lovely rapids. We had lunch by the river and hated to leave. Highly recommend. ”
“ We absolutely loved this restaurant! Ended up coming here twice since we were so blown away by the food the first time. Appetizer: the baked Brie - melted cheese with phyllo dough and jam, delicious! Entrees: The mango founder was the best fish dish we've ever had. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the balsamic glaze added just the right flavor. The elk medallions were smokey and unique. Desert: triple chocolate cheesecake and key lime pie - it's amazing we had room in our stomachs for this but we found it In addition to our orders they gave us a small house salad and sorbet between courses to cleanse our palettes. Bread came with a savory chive flavored butter. All this delicious food served with gorgeous views of the river. Summary: Our favorite restaurant. ”
“ The Rapids Restaurant is the best kept secret in Grand Lake. Nestled along the inlet to Grand Lake, diners are treated to outside or inside dining with the most beautiful views in town. Staff and service are excellent and the food is superior. I just wish we would have found it years ago! ”
“ Incredible restaurant. Best scenery. Best food. ... ”
“ We did not stay here - just ate at the restaurant. Boy was it worth the money! The food was ah-mazing! And the wait staff were so kind and fun to talk to. They even took our photo in front of the river. If weather allows - sit on the patio, it won't disappoint. We had the crab cakes, elk medallions and lamb. Finished with the key lime and the tiramisu. I only wish I took a photo of my lemon drop lavender martini - truly amazing. About 95 per person for all of it. ”
“ We went for dinner and it was amazing! The service and food were 5 star!!! We had a bottle of wine, an appetizer and dinner. The timing of our meal was perfect, steaks were cooked to our ordered temp and the environment was great. Everything was delicious. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!! ”
